The Transilvania International Film Festival continues its tradition of promoting and awarding local film production, and, as every year, it organizes a Local Competition dedicated to films made by professionals or amateurs originating from Cluj or who live, study, or work in the geographical area of the county. This year, 7 out of the 39 submitted short films were selected.
The films will be screened at the Local Competition Gala, which will take place on Tuesday, June 18, at 8:45 PM, at the Military Circle. Admission will be free, based on an online reservation.

The TIFF Local Competition Award, worth 1,500 euros, is offered by Banca Transilvania, and production services worth 10,000 euros for the director's next film project, provided by Numa Film, will be awarded by a jury composed of actress Rodica Lazăr and directors Ana-Maria Comănescu and Gabi Virginia Șarga. The winner of the Local Competition will also be rewarded with a prize from Leonidas, a traditional partner of the project, which will gift the winner chocolate for a year. The jury will also award a Special Mention (Color grading services worth 5,000 euros, provided by Numa Film), as well as a Special Prize, worth 1,000 euros, awarded by McDonald's Romania.
